AFFORDABLE HOUSING

A Growing Demand

Between April 2023 and March 2024, there were approximately 232,000 net additional homes delivered in England, including around 63,600 affordable homes. While this reflects continued delivery across the sector, it remains below the level required to meet demand.

Of the affordable homes delivered, a significant proportion were for Affordable Rent and shared ownership schemes, while Social Rent homes accounted for a much smaller share, continuing a long-term trend of under-supply in this tenure.

At the same time, demand continues to rise. As of 2024–2025, over 1.34 million households are on local authority housing waiting lists in England, with increasing pressure from individuals and families requiring stable and suitable accommodation.

Regionally, the North West, including Liverpool, continues to experience strong demand for affordable housing, with local authorities facing ongoing challenges in meeting housing needs within existing supply levels.

Delivering Affordable Housing Across Liverpool and the North West

Pathway Supported Living has developed a strong understanding of the affordable housing sector through working in partnership with Local Authorities, housing associations and care providers across Liverpool and the North West.

With demand for suitable accommodation continuing to grow, we recognise the opportunity to work collaboratively with both public and private sector partners to help deliver much-needed housing solutions within local communities.

Drawing on our experience in property acquisition, leasing and housing management, we work closely with Local Authorities to understand local housing needs and identify suitable opportunities. Our focus is on delivering safe, stable homes in the right locations, supporting individuals and families while helping to reduce pressure on housing waiting lists and local services.
